HELLO, YOU!

I'm David, the heart and creative eye behind Rideout Films, and since 2006, I’ve been capturing love stories, straight from the heart.

With over 700 weddings under my belt, I've learned that it's about anticipating those genuine moments that make your love story uniquely yours. It's not just about knowing where to stand; it's about understanding the ebb and flow of your day, so I can capture the essence of your love story naturally and authentically.

How long will you be with us on the day?

The time that we will start filming very much depends on the specific timings of your day, but we will generally start filming from 2-3 hours before the ceremony up until the first dance and a little bit afterwards too. If there are key moments that you wish to be captured outside of these hours, just let us know.

What if the venue for my wedding has restrictions on filming?

Although this is rare, even in churches, it is the client’s responsibility to find out if any such restrictions are in place. If so please let us know straight away and we can try our best to work around them.

Won’t there be a problem between the videographer and the photographer?

As long as they’re nice, we’re happy. We always get on very well with photographers and soon learn to work well together. After all, we both want the same thing, to make you happy.

How long does it take to edit the film?

Good editing takes time and the last thing you would want was for the finished product to be rushed. Each shot is individually colour graded and the whole thing is professionally sound mixed. Depending on the time of the year, the finished product will usually be ready anywhere between 2 and 10 weeks from your wedding.

My venue requires my suppliers to have Insurance, do you have this?

Yes. We carry full Public Liability Insurance and have not accidentally demolished a venue yet.

Won’t a video camera get in the way?

The biggest compliment we have been paid by our clients is ‘We hardly realised you were there’. Discretion is key in the field of wedding videography, especially if you want to capture relaxed footage. We like to let the day unfold naturally letting events blossom without any intervention. We will not dazzle the onlookers with bright lights, or step between the vicar and the couple for an artistic close up shot. We will instead deliver you a creative and professional wedding film whilst leaving you wondering where we were all day…

Do I have to supply food for you?

Wedding days can be very demanding and any food that you provide your photographers and videographers is always greatly appreciated. Your venue will usually offer a reduced rate staff meal (we have no special dietary requirements). However if this is not possible please inform us in advance.

What areas do you cover?

We mainly shoot in Essex, however we can cover Herts, Surrey, Kent, Suffolk, Beds, Bucks and even abroad.

Will you require a deposit?

We require a non-refundable £500 deposit at the time of booking with the balance to be paid one month before the wedding day. Payments can be made by online transfer and just in case prices rise between paying your deposit and your balance, you’ll only ever pay the price as it was displayed at the time of booking.

Who picks the music?

We do! In order to comply with copyright law we will carefully select copyright free music like those you will have heard accompanying our trailers online. We hope you agree that these songs perfectly accompany the action whilst remaining barely noticeable, as any good soundtrack should be!

What about sound? How does that sound?

Sound. Ah, how we love sound. You’d be surprised how many video professionals consider audio as an afterthought. In our eyes (ears) it is equally as important as it’s big boasting brother, the picture. We use wireless tie clip microphones like you might see on TV chat shows during the ceremony and speeches. We then carefully mix this dialogue into the ambient room sound picked up by on camera microphones and portable recorders creating a fully immersive surround sound effect.

What makes you different to your competitors?

We realise that a lot of wedding videographers have failed to move with the times and technology and this style can become tiresome and instantly dated. This is something we avoid by filming your day in a creative, concise and discreet way, using top of the range mirrorless Sony cameras, fast high quality lenses and all of the latest accessories available (We’re not afraid to admit that we’re addicted to buying new ‘stuff’)

How long do your films run for?

With the Signature Package, a 20 minute (usually a bit longer!) wedding film with voiceover is included, but remember you'll also get the online trailer (around 3-5 min), the full multi camera edited speeches (anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes!) and the full ceremony excluding church hymns and prayers (around 10-20 minutes).

Included in the Cinematic Package is a 10 minute wedding film with voiceover, plus all of those extras again.

As part of the Documentary Package you will receive a 10 minute wedding film set to music.
